Philosophy
Kalik is a custom designed and build sailing catamaran for worldwide, fast cruising. Advanced hull shape, wave piercing, aft raked bows and a high wingdeck clearance ensure comfortable and fast cruising with no pounding or pitching.
Here powerful Sail plan provides Kalik with speeds up to 30 knots. Cruising Speed with Engines is about 9 knots. However, Kalik is designed as a pure sailing machine and the engines are kept small and light.
A large solar array on the roof is charging Lithium/Ion batteries and the generator is just a backup. The Generator must be used for filling dive tanks with the electrical Brownie dive compressor and for heating water with the electrical water heaters.
The Electra Scan Waste treatment system allows the use of relative small holding tanks.
Kalik is a performance sailing yacht and not a prestige orientated luxury toy. All systems are designed to be as light and efficient as possible with low maintenance. A clever ventilation concept and a airy interior replaces heavy, power consuming and complicated air conditioning. Here roomy and very contemporary interior is offering all necessary Comfort and is easy to keep clean. Floors are cork ‘MarineDeck’. The sophisticated solar system combined with high tech Lithium/Ion batteries reduces generator time to a absolute minimum. Freezer, refrigerators, navigation, lights, Winches etc run easy on Solar Power.

She is a fantastic boat, capable of going anywhere, set up for shorthanded sailing. The MM 65 is super efficient in so many ways. The lithium ion battery system is charged through hi-tech solar panels on the cabin top. Coupled with the Morrelli Melvin hull shapes and a powerful sail plan, this cat can get around the worlds oceans quickly and effortlessly, with minimal crew. Many of the vessels sytems are designed to be as 'green' as possible and energy efficient.
